|Let's Play Basketball...|
Come play basketball with us this season!
Have fun, be healthy and active, get together with your friends, learn some new skills and enjoy the game of basketball right here in the community.
Register now for all the action! Season starts in October
Here’s a general idea of how our programs work
Puppy Division (U8) - 5, 6 and 7 year olds participate in a one hour session each Saturday morning at RV Middle School gym. Co-ed Groups rotate through 4 stations touching on a different skill at each station as they learn the fundamentals of the sport . Every third week we put them into modified game situations to try out their newly learned skills. October to February. $100 for the season.
Jr. Mini (U10) - 8 and 9 year olds have one practice night per week with their team and the play in an interactive league on Saturday mornings with teams from the Lancaster and East Saint John Associations. All games have referees and a time clock but we don’t keep score. Games are modified a bit to keep the games flowing. At this level the genders are split into all girl and all boy teams. Home games and practices are at Morna Heights School and road games go to the home gyms for LMBA and ESJMBA. October to February. See below for fees.
Mini (U12) - 10 and 11 year olds practice one night per week at the Westfield School gym and follow that with home games on Saturdays at the RVMS gym or in away games against the LMBA and ESJMBA teams in their home gyms. October to February. See below for fees.
Bantam (U14) - 12 and 13 year olds practice one night per week at the RVMS gym and play their home games their also. They play games against the LMBA, ESJMBA and Hampton teams and travel to their gyms for away games. See below for fees.
Fees for Jr. Mini, Mini and Bantam recreational basketball are $175.00 for the first child in a family, $160 for the second child and $120 for each additional child. (unless the second or additional child is at Puppy level wherein the fee remains $100).
The RVBA understands that there are a lot of costs this time of year especially with the kids starting or returning to school. As such we offer a payment plan just so they don’t miss out on the opportunity to play. We will be happy to take ½ of the fee at the start of the season and the other half on or before early December, approximately midway through the season. If you feel the need for a slightly different arrangement, please contact us at email@example.com and we will work it out with you.
Mini and Bantam players also have the opportunity to try out for Rep Teams which compete around the province and end their season in March at the Provincial Championships for their level. All players are welcome to try out for these teams . There is an additional fee if selected and the season runs from November to March. Players continue to participate with their recreational teams during this period as well.
